Today is the two month anniversary of my blog! I can’t believe I have been doing this for 2 months now or the amount of support that I have received. I am always so shocked when I get a like from someone I don’t know or receive notification that someone has followed the blog or me on Twitter etc! So I will say a big thank you now đŸ™‚
(Taken on our sailing trip to Mica Beach)
As you know I am a bit of a wannabe photographer. I go through phases of being very much in to taking photos and love getting out and about, setting everything up and then coming up with the shot that I have in my mind. However I am also terrible at having motivation to even edit my old photos let alone take them some times and I don’t know why.
(Butterfly at Dripstone Cliffs)
This means that when I put my memory card from my camera in to the computer today to do some editing I found photos from our sailing trip at the start of March right up to those that I took this evening oops. I also know I have a bunch of photos from the end of February on the computer waiting to be edited.
It is the photography club meeting tomorrow and I wanted some photos to take along to enter the competition. As usual there are the open categories which I will enter photos in but the theme is Australiana. I’m not sure any of my photos fit that theme at the moment but will go back through them shortly.
I do seem to have some photography motivation at the moment. It is in theory the end of the wet season and beginning of the dry season so we have been slightly surprised by the big thunderstorms that we have received the last few days which come complete with rain and lightning as it seemed the humidity and storms were all done for the season.
(You can just about see the lightning between the trees)
I’ve wanted to try taking photos of lightning with my DSLR since being given a tripod for my camera for my birthday by the Aussie but could never get it to work/suss it out. After doing some research online I discovered the method to create lightning shots with my camera and managed to get 2 shots of the lightning kind of!
(Bit more of a lightning bolt)
Now I kind of know what I am doing I will definitely be trying again next time we have a storm and hopefully will get a few more much more decent shots.
My photos on the post today are a bit random but are a mixture of those taken when me and the Aussie last went sailing, my trip around Dripstone Cliffs yesterday and a little wander I took around Berry Springs on Sunday.
