Photo Bombing

May 8, 2014 by Vicky Leave a Comment

Oooh it’s been a very hectic week this week between work and trying to get visa stuff done, do photography stuff and just have a good night!

Last night me and the Aussie had to dash from work (of course as I had to leave dead on 5pm the day was crazy hectic and it was a tight squeeze to get out on time but I made it just!) to go meet a couple of his friends who are providing us with Statutory Declarations for the visa application so I could give them forms and explain what they needed to do.

Then when that had finished I dashed to the Camera Club to attend the Committee Meeting before the club meeting as I have joined the Committee now! It was quite fun getting more involved and helping decide what the club would get up to.

We then had our normal meeting which is normally made up of a talk from someone about photography, looking at some photos (yep shocking I know) and then judging for the monthly competition.

This months theme was food for thought so every photo I took I would ask the Aussie if he thought it represented “food for thought”, occasionally it did! The competition also has open categories for colour and monochrome photos as well as postcard sized (6×4) and digital theme and colour photos.

Food for Thought(2)

I entered a few, ok 14 photos, across the theme and open categories and managed to secure two 1st places, 4 second places and one 3rd place from all of my photos. I was very pleased as I really thought about the photos I would enter. A selection of my “winning” photos are dotted around this post.

I am also going to enter some photos in the competition at the Fred’s Pass Rural Show which is happening next weekend. The themed photo is “rural life” and I chose the picture below for this entry. I’m not sure about it but it’s the best I could come up with before I have to drop my photos off tomorrow.

Dinner Time(1)

Other than entering photos in the competition at the Camera Club, this is the first time I have really participated in a competition with my photos so I’m a bit nervous. I’ll see how things go and if nothing else it is a good excuse to go to the show which looks like it might be fun and a good photo opportunity or two!
