Somehow it is already June! How did that happen? It has been quite a hectic five months of the year and I am getting super excited for my families visit in July. Its only 29 days until they arrive so we are on the final countdown!
Also during May we moved house so we haven’t been out and about as much as usual but I have found a few things I have loved.
Music
Make your own kind of music by Paloma Faith – I have a massive playlist on my phone which I tend to just stick on shuffle but from time to time I go through the iTunes shop and download a few songs for a change. At the start of the month I downloaded this song and fell in love with it! I think Paloma Faith is fantastic and I really hope she tours Australia so we can go and see her live. The song itself is pretty cool with a good message, I think at least. I have had it on repeat a lot!
I have also joined Spotify now and have been loving all of the different play lists. It is so easy and I always seem to find a play list that is perfect for my mood!
Live
Twelfth Night – at the beginning of the month our friend gave us some tickets to Twelfth Night as she wasn’t able to go. I love live theatre, musicals and ballet so was really excited that we had an opportunity to go. I didn’t know the story at all, we didn’t study it in school like they seem to have done in Australia but I thought it was fantastic. A modern spin with gorgeous songs and I felt the story was really well told. Thank you Naomi for the tickets again!
Movies
We saw a couple of movies during May including Avengers Infinity War and Breath. I enjoyed both movies which were entirely different. Breath was beautifully made and is based in West Australia which is where the Aussie grew up and in fact he knew the author. It was visually stunning as well with the sea and surf views. It made me want to go to WA and also maybe try surfing!
Books and TV
I finished reading The Handmaids Tale this month. It was one of those books where it seems far fetched but you can also kind of see that with the world as it is that it is not quite as far fetched to make it impossible. I have also started watching the tv adaptation now because I hate watching movies or tv shows before reading the books. So far they have done a good adaptation but it is of course not as true to the book as I would prefer.
Doing
Not only did we move this month but we participated in the Million Paws Walk with Naomi. The walk combined my love for exercise with some fundraising for a good cause and of course dogs!! I even won a life size dulux dog in the prize draw and am waiting to be told when and how I can collect it!
