Brisbane Park Run Tour – Stones Corner

February 20, 2019 by Vicky Leave a Comment

As I have talked about on the blog, I, along with Naomi, am one of those people I used to call crazy, who gets up extra early on a Saturday morning so I can get to Park Run for 7am.

When you join up you choose a home course and for a while we tended to stick to the same couple of courses, being Rocks Riverside and Wynnum Park Runs.

We have recently been venturing out to other venues and at our last walk we decided we would try and do a bit of a Park Run tour around Brisbane which lead in to the need to review and rate each Park Run.

We are going to use the same questions as we visit each venue and report back here!

First up is Stones Corner:

1. Course

The course was a return course so you went up to the mid way point and back to the finish line. It was very open i.e. there wasn’t much tree coverage and we did the walk mid spring and it felt quite hot so I would say I wouldn’t want to do it in the middle of summer but it was a nice walk overall.

2. Accessibility / Manoeuvrability

The course is easily accessible. I managed to park right next to the park where the walk happens. The path was a bit narrow in places which made it a bit tricky to navigate because there were park runners and non-park runners using the course.

3. Volunteers

They were lovely, very friendly and helpful. I always appreciate the volunteers because without them, there would be no Park Run.

4. Photography

After each Park Run I always check the Facebook page to find our photos. The photos from this Park Run were not the best. There wasn’t really any photos of us but its not the be all and end all!

5. Ambience

The ambience wasn’t bad. The pre event talk was good and the volunteers made sure to shout out all the milestones (I am excited to hit 50 Park Runs, hopefully next year). There was lots of communication on route to let you know there were other walker/runners and people riding their bikes which is good and means you can keep out of everyones way.
