It feels like a good day for a bit of currently…
Laughing at and singing along to Listen to the Man by George Ezra and staring Sir Ian Mckellan in the video which is very funny!
Listening to my Spotifly playlist which includes George Ezra, Sam Smith, Pasenger and Sia.
Enjoying air conditioning. The only rooms in our apartment which have air con are the bedrooms so it is the perfect excuse for setting up base for the weekend in bed! Despite the fact we are technically in the wet season, there is a pretty significant lack of the wet stuff. We should be getting a lot of rain almost all day every day but we’re having a few storms a week which does break the humidity but it quickly resume building up to the next storm. They say we’re due for a cyclone next week or at least some monsoon rain which is very much appreciated.
Reading Taboo by Casey Hill after my visit to the library in the City this week. I’m enjoying reading an actual book rather than an e-book for a change!
Feeling tired. My sleeping is getting a bit hit and miss at the moment. Some nights I am fast asleep by 9pm, sometimes I fall asleep on the sofa for an hour and then feel wide awake (not helpful) and some nights its 1am or later until I sleep. I need to get this sorted as it’s making the week days tough some times.
Excited and Nervous about getting going at University. It’s taken such a long time, it’s feeling a bit like Christmas with all the hype and then it will arrive and I’ll be surprised it’s here!
Anxious about my Visa. We applied in July last year and it says there is a 6 month turnaround for low risk applicants, which I guess I am as I am from the UK, but we haven’t heard anything yet. We didn’t upload our final documents until October, or at least what we thought were the last documents they needed, so have been timing the 6 months period from October but on the website it just basically says processing don’t call us we’ll call you. I’m a bit concerned that the lack of contact means they are waiting for something but haven’t told us what. I’ve heard stories of people being told of for calling Immigration and have visions of the paperwork going to the bottom of the pile because we called so I am trying to resist making the call. For a slightly control freak lawyer this is tough!
Looking at my very sunburnt hands, knees and feet after an afternoon sailing around Darwin’s harbour. I have a line of sunburn on each knee in exactly the same place!! We spent the afternoon sailing on a friends new boat for the second weekend in a row which was a lot of fun. The Aussie even taught a couple of us how to tack and jibe and had us doing it over and over. The tough bit was when we had to do both sides of the boat at the same time, that’s exhausting if your not used to it!
