I just realised that when I posted about sailing on the weekend I said I would write another post about the weekend and totally forgot to do it!
I had a fun and busy weekend which is a pretty good way to spend the weekend I think.
On Saturday after sailing I was dropped off at a hotel in town by the Aussie to meet up with my friends from work for my first proper night out in Darwin, after 7 months here it was well over due I believe!
We spent a while getting ready and glammed up for our night and then went for dinner at a pub/restaurant place called The Hogsbreath Cafe. They do really nice food for fairly good value and of course we enjoyed a cocktail.
After that we went for drinks at the Ducks Nuts and then on to Discovery which is a club in Darwin where we danced a lot and just had a great time.
On Sunday the Aussie was sailing again so I went to the cinema and watched the film Tracks hitch is the true story of Robyn Davidson’s journey by foot from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean which is 1700 miles away with her pet dog and some camels.
The film is really well made and you get to see all aspects of her journey which is so interesting especially when your in or visiting Australia. I would highly recommend this film just so you can see what that route is like but also to see how her journey which seems totally impossible.
