I’ve been writing the Outback Expat blog since the 1st February 2014 and have tried a few different header looks during that time.
At the weekend (as an attempt to avoid doing something boring like housework) I decided to have a play around with the header and logo again and came up with the header you can see up the top.
I am not really a fan of the colour orange/ochre and will always go for more lilac looking hues if there is a choice but decided to give orange a go because it reminds me of the red/orange colour of the earth in the Northern Territory and I wanted to reflect the outback on the blog.
Talking to the Aussie about my plans he also pointed out that the flag of the Northern Territory is orange, black and white so my decision seemed perfect really.
By way of background the Northern Territory Flag was flown for the first time in Darwin on 1 July 1978 which marked the grant of self-government to the Northern Territory
I had a play around with fonts and colours using PicMonkey which is a pretty good and basic photo editing website, and am pretty happy with my choice.
I also changed the overall “theme” of the blog using a different WordPress version which I think I like as well.
I would love some feedback about how it all looks and whether you think it fits the “outback” character I am looking for.
